As for the green plant, she’s always liked things like that. If you agree, I’ll pay and order the delivery. Bye! 

Text B. Hi, Sophie! Andrea here. Is your cold getting better? Look, you have to be well by Sunday because I’ve got two invitations for us to the opening ceremony of the new sports centre. On Sunday at 10 am. There’ll be a lottery and the prizes are yearly tickets to the swimming pool. Imagine? You’ll be able to swim every day for free! If you win, of course. And as for the concert on Sunday night – sorry, it was cancelled, so we are not going. Anyway, take care. See you on Sunday.

Text B. Hi, Jane! It’s Amanda. I’m calling to say that we had to change the date of my birthday party.  In the invitation, it’s written as the 14^th of October, which is Saturday, but the weather forecast says it’ll be raining the whole day. Not very good for a garden party, is it? That’s why we’ve moved it to Sunday which promises to be a warm and sunny day. The time is the same — 2pm. Call me on Friday evening to confirm that you’re coming. See you on Sunday!

Text B. Hi, Tom. It’s Bob. Look, you know that we are rehearsing a play for our Christmas concert. The thing is that one of my classmates, who was supposed to play the part of a street musician, has got sick. Could you be the street musician instead of him? Please, don’t worry, you won’t have to memorize anything. You’ll just have to sit at the back of the stage playing your guitar. I really don’t know anyone else who could play the guitar so well. Waiting for your call.

Text B. Hi, Tom. Andrew calling. I’m on a bike ride at the moment and want to ask you a favour. I need to get to my grandma’s place this weekend. She needs some help there with her house and garden. Unfortunately, I can’t take my dog with me and I just wonder if you could walk him on Saturday evening and on Sunday in the morning. Let me know about your decision. OK. And I’ll bring you a bag of apples from the garden whatever your decision is. 

Text B. Hi, Fred! It’s Charlie. I just want to tell you that you were lucky to be late for that film we saw today. Really lucky! Because I’ve never seen anything more stupid! I was about to give up in the middle of the film and leave but Kate and Alice turned me into staying up to the end but they didn’t like it either. Now I feel silly for spending so much time and money for nothing. Anyway, call me back when you have time. Both Kate and Alice send you their regards.

Text B. Hi, dad. I want to share some news. You wanted me to take a French course, so I did that. I was at the language school and took a test for the level. The test didn’t take me long. I know nothing, and, of course, they defined my level as a beginner. And placed me into the lowest group but in that group, I saw Paul, my old friend from primary school. We both were very glad to meet up again after so many years. I believe taking a language course with Paul will be real fun, won’t it? 

Text B. Hi, Vicky! It’s Paul. I’m calling to tell you about our schedule for tomorrow. There were a few changes while you’re away. First of all, the Maths test is cancelled. Instead of that we’re going to have Science. Ms. Adams reminded us that tomorrow we need to be ready with our presentations on chemical elements. In Science class she’s going to see all of them. As for the essay about outstanding people, forget about it for a while. It’s been put off to the next week. See you!

Text B. Hi, Dad! I’m so sorry, it looks like I’m going to be late for Granny’s birthday. You know, right after our excursion to the historical museum I was going to Granny’s house. My timing was perfect! But … A group of Japanese tourists had got lost and asked me how to get to the railway station and while I was explaining the way to them, it started to rain and I got wet to the bone. I had to go home to change my clothes. I’m at home at the moment and heading to Grandma. See you there.

Text B. Hi, Jeff! It’s Thomas. What’s the score? I’ve heard our team has won the first half. Is that true? I’m so sorry I can’t be with you at the moment. So unlucky that the football match and my swimming competition happen to be at the same time. I’m doing well, and my coaches are happy with the result, but our competition is not over yet. As soon as it is, I’ll rush to the stadium. Don’t know how long it will take me, the traffic is heavy. There may be traffic jams. 

Text B. Hi, mum! I can’t wait to tell you the news! Just listen! Your daughter Lucy Brown has won the Space Research Contest for schoolchildren and has been awarded first prize, which is a telescope! Now we will be able to enjoy the night sky from home! It’s much more interesting than going to the planetarium. The telescope is not large. In fact, it’s an amateur version. I saw the same one on a TV show on the educational channel. See you at home! We’re celebrating today, aren’t we?

Text B. Hi dad! I’ve already arrived, but can see neither you nor mom. There are so many people at the arrivals. It’s easy to lose each other, so I am waiting for you at the staircase which is in the arrival lounge to the right of the entrance to the terminal. I am wearing a brand-new blue coat, bought from a Parisian shopping center. I’m awfully hungry and suggest going to our favorite cafe, straight from the airport. This one in the city center, where we celebrated my birthday. See you.    

Text B. Hi, Jack! It’s Cathy. I’m just calling to say sorry. I didn’t come to your birthday party yesterday because I had a very bad day. It all started in the morning. My dog Buddy got very sick. We took him to the hospital and he was operated then. I waited there till I could take him home. Now everything is fine, he’s at home, lying on my leg while I’m trying to concentrate on my Maths homework. Anyway, I hope you had a great day. Sorry again and happy birthday for yesterday. 

Text B. Hi, Max! Andrea’s calling. I just have to tell you that I won’t be able to join you for your camping trip this weekend. My aunt’s family are coming and mum asked me to show them around the city. I’m going to be a sort of tourist guide for them. I feel a bit disappointed but on the other hand, our relatives are very nice and hospitable. When we visited them last time, they had a party for us and did everything to entertain us. Anyway, I want you to have a great trip. Call me later. 

Text B. Hi, Fred! It’s me, Andrew. I’m taking a pack of sandwiches for us for tomorrow’s excursion, so we are not going to be hungry on the bus even if we come back home really late. Ms. Carter says that we’re going to eat in a café but anyway… Do you remember, by the way, where exactly the bus would be waiting for us tomorrow morning? Should we go to school first? Or do we need to go directly to the bus stop? Call or text me, will you? See you tomorrow!

Text B. Hi Sandra, your younger brother here. I need some advice. It’s about my birthday party. I’ve already ordered a large birthday cake in the same shop where we used to buy cakes when we were kids. But I’m wondering where to throw the party. Do you think it’s okay to have it in our garden? Text B. Hi, Amanda! Jessica’s calling! You must be at the party at the moment and I hope you’re wearing that fantastic blue dress we bought yesterday! Are you? Anyway, I need your advice. My parents suggested that we go on a holiday to celebrate my birthday somewhere outside the city. Either to the aqua park or to the mountain lake. They want me to choose! I’m really of two minds! On the one hand, the aqua park is more fun but what would you choose if you were me? 

Text B. Hi, Sarah! It’s Samantha. I’ve got a problem with my computer… In fact, it’s not the computer — I just can’t get into my school account. Anyway, I remember that we’ve got some assignments due tomorrow in science, but I don’t remember what exactly we have to do. Could you text the task to me, please? It’s really urgent because I need to complete my homework by 6 pm, as I don’t want to miss a pizza in the best pizzeria of the city. My parents promised to take me there tonight. 

Text B. Hi, Mum! I’m going to be late — we are getting ready for our school culinary show. And I’m taking part with your recipe … a cherry pie. Anyway, I have to ask you a favour. My friend, Anna, is going to come today. I’ve promised her a book about pet birds. She’s got a small parrot as a present but she doesn’t even know what to feed it with. So, she’s desperate to get the book as soon as possible. Could you give it to her, please? It’s on the shelf above my table. Love you!
