… My cat is big, white and furry. He is such fun! I can’t understand people who prefer to live without pets.
… Why don’t some people want to have any pets? Do you approve of keeping exotic pets like spiders or snakes and why? What pets are popular in your country? …

Dear Ben,
Thanks for your recent email. I was very glad to hear from you.
Now I’d like to answer your questions. Some people don’t want to have any pets because pets take a lot of time, money, and responsibility. What’s more, if you travel a lot, it’s hard to find someone to look after your pet. As for keeping exotic pets like spiders or snakes, I don’t really approve of it. I think wild animals should live in their natural habitat, not in a small cage at home. In my country, the most popular pets are cats and dogs. Many people also have hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish.
That’s all for now. Write back soon.
Love,
Sasha
