…My friend and I are planning to start a new hobby but we haven’t decided yet what hobby to choose. What hobbies are popular with teenagers in Russia? Do you feel you have enough time for your hobby? Is there any hobby you’d like to take up? Why?
As for my school exams, they are almost over and I’m looking forward to my summer break…

Dear Sheryl,
Thanks for your email. I was so happy to get it.
Let me answer your questions about hobbies. Well, Russian teenagers are interested in various hobbies. Team sports are popular among boys like football or basketball, also martial arts are in demand. As for the girls, they are engaged in skill based hobbies like knitting or embroidery. The latter is actually the activity I am dreaming of picking up. I am a creative person and I am sure embroidery may help me unleash my creativity and express myself. Unfortunately, I don’t have any time now to take up that hobby as I am too busy preparing for my exams.
Now I’d like to ask you something too. Are you planning to travel in the summer? What places are you planning to visit? Will you meet up with friends ?
