задание 4
Imagine that you are doing a school project “Eco-friendly ways to travel” together with your friend. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project.
In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
- explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
- mention the advantages (1–2) of the two types of eco-friendly ways of travelling;
- mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two types of eco-friendly ways of travelling;
- express your opinion on the subject of the project – which way of travelling presented in the pictures you’d prefer for green travel and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (2-3 sentences for each item of the plan, 12–15 sentences total). You have to talk continuously.

I have found some nice pictures for our project » Eco-friendly travel»
Now I would like to describe them to you.
These photos are perfect for our project as they show people who are travelling.
In the first photo there is a couple who are standing near thetrain at the railway station. They are probably waiting to embark and they have big rucksacks behind their backs. While in the second photo there is a man and a woman riding bicycles. They are somewhere in the field and they are wearing helmets and special gear for cycling.
However, there is a significant difference between these photos.
It is a kind of transport. People in the first picture are travelling by train while people in the second photo are travelling by bicycles.
The advantages of the two eco-friendly travel options are obvious.
Travelling by train is good for long distances, which enables people to travel between cities easily. While travelling by bicycle is cheaper and doesn’t pollute the environment at all.
Now I would like to point to the disadvantages of the two eco-friendly travel options.
When you travel by train you have to follow the train schedule which is not always convenient. While travelling by bicycle is tiring and may be slow.
Personally, I would prefer to travel by train as it is comfortable and I can carry a lot of baggage with me.

- express your opinion on the subject of the project – which approach to travelling presented in the pictures you’d prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Hi, Lucy!
I have found some nice pictures for our project «Tourism and Travelling».
Now I would like to describe them to you.
These photos are perfect for our project as they show people who are travelling.
In the first photo there is a girl who is near some canal or a lake. She has a rucksack behind her back and it is probably summer as she is wearing some light clothes. While in the second picture there is a group of tourists, they are seeing the sights in a popular destination. It is the summer as all of them are wearing summer clothes and hats.
However, there is a significant difference between these photos.
It is a kind of tourism. The girl in the first photo is travelling solo while the people in the second picture are travelling in a group.
The advantages of the two kinds of tourism are obvious.
Travelling solo, you learn to be independent and confident. While travelling in a group is safer , people from the group can help you if you get sick or lost.
Now I would like to point to the disadvantages of the two kinds of tourism.
Travelling solo is more expensive, you do not have anyone to share costs. While arguments occur frequently between the group participants when people travel in a group.
Personally, I would prefer to travel solo as I want to be free and decide myself where to go, when to eat and what to see.
