Imagine that you are doing a project on what Zetland teenagers spend their money on. You have found some data on the subject — the results of the opinion polls (see the table below). Comment on the data in the table and give your opinion on the subject of the project.
The survey question: What Zetland teenagers spend their money on?

Write 200–250 words.

- conclude by giving and explaining your opinion on the role of pocket money in teenagers’ lives.

The project I am currently working on is aimed at finding out what Zetland teenagers spend their money on. I have found a table with the results of a survey. I am going to comment on the survey and give my opinion on the subject of the project.
According to the table answering the question «what Zetland teenagers spend their money on?», the majority of the respondents prefer to buy clothes and shoes, at 34%. As many as 18% of the teenagers spend their money on eating out, followed by personal care, at 13%.
It is clear from the table that the number of the teenagers who purchase video games and apps is two and half times as big as the corresponding rate for those who choose to spend their money on concerts and events. (25% and 10% respectively). This is not surprising, as teenagers are interested in playing video games more than visiting concerts and events.
Regrettably, some problems may arise with spending money for teenagers. One of them is overspending. Teenagers are not able to manage the budget wisely so they often go beyond the budget and splurge all their money at once. To solve this problem parents should give pocket money in smaller amounts more often so it’s easier to manage.
In conclusion, pocket money plays an important role in teenagers’ lives. Having pocket money teenagers can have their own budget and learn to make their own financial decisions.
